WANE.com first reported on this story. I think it's both funny and horrifying. People are talking about it, but I don't remember the uproar when Obama was hung in effigy. People are freaking out because kids are walking to school seeing this. Since it's Black History Month, I would take this opportunity for the parents of these kids to talk about slavery, and Jim Crow Laws, and lynching of people who don't have the same skin color as you do. Then, the parents can talk about fascism, and "freedom of speech" and how even though some people say stuff you may not like, they are allowed to say it. They could also talk about diplomacy and discretion, and how saying what's on your mind isn't always the best thing to do. The guy who lives here obviously doesn't give a shit, as he's armed. I admire his balls though. I just wonder how well his views would go over in the 04, as opposed to the 07. I won't mention the guy's address, but let'...

One of my friends who teaches overseas is in town, and he called me up to see if I wanted to do anything. I suggested a number of things and we chose the zoo . Considering the weather lately, it was kind of a chancy thing to suggest, but the weather was absolutely beautiful today. Sunny and warm, very little humidity, and a breeze.  I hadn't been to the zoo in probably twelve years. I am usually not easily impressed, but there are some improvements that have been made and some that are on their way, and it was a very good time. I got a few pictures. Two people-watching events back to back? Well, I guess it would be three, if you include PrideFest. However, since I had to work the weekend, except Friday evening, I had to make a choice. And I chose the fair because where else can you drive 15 minutes and see livestock without having to drive out to a farm? Unfortunately, I didn't have my phone charger cord with me and my phone pooped out sooner than I did. But I think I got some interesting photos. I will say the ride operators were probably the most attractive I've EVER seen in my life, with some great hair going on. Only one ride operator was in dire need of Weight Watchers and nice clothing. I wonder if he was grandfathered in, and allowed to stay slobby because of seniority? Anyway, enjoy! I didn't know Lucky Charms could be used for hamster bedding.
